Over the last couple of months, we've been adjusting to new rules, reprioritizing and thinking about how, going forward, our content could be adapted to the pandemic setting we find ourselves in so that moving forward in our lives is still possible and reasonably easy.
Productivity – accomplishing more in less time – has taken a back seat as many report feeling tired, unmotivated and anxious about the state of the world. There's no denying the importance of self-care and allowing yourself time to adjust to government-imposed lifestyle changes, but too much freedom and chill time also makes room for time to hear and think about the pandemic and its impacts, which is far from ideal and likely to result in more anxiety. As such, we believe it's important to share productivity articles, short videos and continue development of useful tools while ensuring they're relevant and functional to the current situation.
Where there are so-called "first waves" of COVID-19, it may seem premature to encourage high performance or the pursuit of one's interest, but the important lesson we've learned is to remind ourselves that it's not forever or more popularly, albeit somewhat cheesy, this too shall pass. Humanity has faced many pandemics throughout history and thanks to medicine or the passing of (a relatively short) time, life returned to normal.
The good thing is, although there are too many people thinking only about themselves and putting their own and others' lives at risk thereby lengthening the pandemic, there are enough people following the rules but struggling with anxiety about social isolation or the virus itself, including us. It's not because you and only you are unlucky, almost 8 billion people are experiencing the exact same thing right now. One day this period will be a distant memory, but it's also a significant chunk of time that shouldn't be wasted. As tough as it may be to accept, live with and navigate the reality of a pandemic, it's important to keep going to reduce future regrets and to keep your mind off the current grim and volatile environment.
